We know in life that things don’t always go to plan. Accidents and illness can occur at any time, so we’ve cleared a special place in our daily schedule to slot you in for those emergency appointments.
Don’t delay. Don’t put it off for another day. If your eyes are red or sore you need to have them checked as soon as possible.
We reserve several appointments each day for eye emergencies. Please advise us of your symptoms and one of our staff will book you in for a prompt consultation.
What symptoms do I need to be concerned about?
- Red eyes
- Sore eyes
- Injured eyes (eg scratch, metal or other foreign body)
- Sudden vision loss or distorted vision
- Double vision
- New floaters or spots in your vision
- Flashing or flickering lights in your peripheral vision
Our optometrists are experienced in diagnosing red eye causes and have the same authority as your GP to prescribe eye drops for infection or inflammation.
Do you have something stuck or lodged in your eye?
If you have anything trapped in your eye, you need to have it seen to immediately. If you have a foreign body in your eye our optometrists can anaesthetise the area and expertly remove the object.
